There is just something about building a new home. There is a lot of stress and unexpected problems in the process but you seem to be able to get through them with time. We did enjoy it but some people don’t. There are a lot of horror stories out there about building your own home. People do it to save money but in the end it cost them more.

Then you wonder if all your decisions were correct and if all building and safety standards were met? Of course you wonder what the finished product will look like. By chance we drove by a lot owned by lakeland homes and gave them a call. It started us on a journey to one of the best decisions we have ever made. Their quote came in and it was right on target. I went to pick out my my flooring and tile choices and got a instant call from mike saying that I had exceeded my allowance for the flooring and tile. I had a long conversation with Mike telling him that I was going over my initial budget and was comfortable doing that. It is so refreshing to have someone try and save YOU money. Not only are we living in our dream home but Mike and Andre are now great friends of ours. People are always surprised when I say that but its 100% true! I felt like I was having my family build my home for me and Mike was like a brother always watching out for us. We did everything on a hand shake and he honours that agreement every time. From the moment we walked through the Lakeland model home we were sold.

The house was beautiful and we loved the higher end finishes and the floor plan and felt that it was a great value for the money. The decision to build was made even easier after sitting down with Mike and Andre to discuss a plan. True to his promise during that very first meeting we received Mike's full attention and guidance throughout the entire project. As you can imagine, seeing this kind of project through from beginning to end can be overwhelming and stressful with so many decisions to be made and deadlines to be met. This was made to run very smoothly because we were given an organized plan with dates and contact names to help keep us on schedule as we chose the many finishes for our home from carpet to cabinets to paint colour and so on. Even the various vendors and trades that we worked with through Lakeland were professional and helpful. By far the most impressive thing for us was the quality of service we received from Mike himself. Whenever we had a question or concern, if there was a problem or a glitch as the build was taking place, if we sent a text or called Mike we were answered immediately and action was taken swiftly to ensure we were satisfied. It was this commitment and quality of service, not only throughout the build, but even now, that has made this process enjoyable and easy. Our home is absolutely beautiful and we love how everything turned out. We get compliments from everyone who walks through it. If we should ever decide to build again it would be a pleasure to work with Lakeland again...we wouldn't choose anyone else.
